If there's one adjective I could use to describe our experience with Lynne Kennedy, it would be flawless. We hired Lynne as the day-of coordinator for our wedding, but it doesn't feel right to call her that because she was truly so much more. When I first sat down with Lynne she said to me, "think of me more as your month-of coordinator." It was clear from that first meeting that, with Lynne, we'd be in the best hands. Throughout the entire planning process, Lynne insisted on reviewing our contracts and making sure everything was set up for success from the get-go. And she really wasn't kidding about her involvement in the month leading up to the wedding (and beyond that). She was at every meeting, made sure that there was a plan in place for every single thing you could possibly imagine, and established & communicated timelines with everyone from our vendors to our bridal party. As is obvious, planning weddings can be quite stressful and it doesn't help that I'm a worrier by nature. But with Lynne, I was never worried. I knew she was on top of it all. I can never thank her enough for giving me that peace of mind.
One of the things I can't stress enough about Lynne is how calm her demeanor is. Planning events can innately be stressful, but she somehow makes it look easy. On the day of your wedding, you want to be surrounded by people who make you feel calm and relaxed - that's Lynne. She also showed up the morning of our wedding with fresh, homemade blueberry scones that we all devoured. How did she find the time to do that? I still am convinced she's superhuman. All day, she seamlessly floated between the
getting ready suites at the hotel, the venue, and even made a stop at the store to get me throat coat tea. Our entire wedding went off without a hitch. I couldn't even tell you if something didn't initially go according to plan. At the end of the night, my husband and I were getting back to the hotel and there was Lynne, first leaving the hotel. It was past 1:30am. We got up to our suite and saw that the entire room had been turned over, there were flower petals everywhere, and Lynne had boxed up all of our items so we knew where everything was. We would not have been able to pull off the most perfect day of our lives without Lynne and, for that, we are forever grateful.
We interviewed several Wedding Planners before hiring Lynne. She is so calm, with a quiet confidence. Lynne gives direction in a respectful and thoughtful way. She is unbelievably creative, yet organized with consistent attention to detail, and pro-active in doing things we did not even know we needed to do. Lynne resolved any potential conflicts or road blocks. If things were not going the way we wanted with vendors or consultants, Lynne stepped in to resolve them. We knew without a doubt, we had made the right choice. Lynne came armed with homemade blueberry scones the morning of the wedding, while getting ready (which by the way were DELICIOUS). She stayed at the venue until the end and not only packed up everything we brought, but she also brought it home for us. She goes above and beyond anything you might expect. The people running the venue told me she was the most organized and best Wedding Planner they had ever worked with. What else do you need to know? I would hire her again in a heartbeat, not only for another wedding, but also any large party. Lynne is the best.....I am going to miss not talking to her now that my daughter is married.
There are not enough words to express how fortunate we feel that Lynne coordinated our wedding day!!! From the moment we met her, she was organized & dependable, with a calming & joyful presence. Our jobs can be demanding, & without her there is no way the event would’ve come together the way it did, from schedule to decorations. She had fantastic vendor recommendations & styling advice, & when we weren’t sure how to answer vendor questions she would take care of it. She had every single detail covered including little things we never thought of, such as alone time for the bride & groom with our drinks of choice there for a special toast. She also worked with the mother of the groom to fully coordinate a post-wedding brunch in the family home, which thanks to her was beautifully decorated, featured delicious food & ran smoothly. Lynne helped make our wedding weekend magical & better than we ever dreamed. All our guests are still talking about what an incredible weekend it was. We will be recommending her to everyone we know that needs a wedding/event planner in the future, including all our family members!
I can't say enough about my experience working with Lynne at the Gilded Aisle. From the first phone conversation, I could feel her warmth and positivity. I used Lynne as a day of planner, but Lynne made herself available for SO MUCH MORE. As the day got closer, Lynne was always in contact and willing to answer any questions I had. She attended the walk through at the hotel and made sure so many little things were addressed that I would never have thought of. She even attended my last dress fitting! And, thank goodness she was there because the seamstress had messed up the bustle of my dress. With only 2 weeks away from the wedding day, I took my dress to another seamstress and Lynne came to that fitting too! She kept me calm throughout the whole process. On the wedding day, Lynne arrived with her colleague Mary Claire and they were quite the duo! They were professional and efficient, all the while with smiles and laughter! Lynne even brought homemade blueberry scones! Lynne made sure the day and evening ran smoothly without a hitch, literally. It was perfect and I didn't have to worry about anything, because of Lynne and Mary Claire. I highly recommend Lynne and the Gilded Aisle. It was such a pleasure working with Lynne and I miss our daily emails even now!
Her professionalism, organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail was impressive not only to us but to all of our vendors and our wedding party. Without me having to prompt her to do so, Lynne had reached out to our caterer, our band, florist, my hair/makeup stylists, photographer, and our wedding party to make sure everyone knew where they had to be and when, and to confirm all of our contracts. It gave me peace of mind knowing that she was making sure all of the pieces fell into place so that my husband and I could just enjoy ourselves on our wedding day. I highly recommend using Lynne- she was above and beyond our expectations!
We came to find Lynne Kennedy and her team through a colleague and could not have been more appreciative of the hard work she and her team put in to make our wedding day unforgettable. Our wedding day would not have gone as smoothly as it did without Lynne and her team's work. I highly recommend Lynne Kennedy of The Gilded Aisle to help plan your wedding or event. Lynne helped design, organize and execute two different weddings for our family during 2019 and her support was professional, dedicated and exceptional from our first phone call through the wedding day and beyond. For each of our weddings, both the bride and groom lived outside of the Chicago area, so communication for the multitude of decisions was across different time zones and done through conference calls and emails; Lynne accommodated all schedules, and never missed a beat. Lynne’s composed disposition and demeanor, as well as her experienced expertise, helped calm stressful decisions and situations from beginning to end. She provided our family expert counsel on contracts, walk-throughs, playbook, and coordination. Lynne was able to foresee and mange resolution to potential (or actual!) problems as they arose. For example when an unusual snowstorm in late-late April was forecast, Lynne provided advice on a great venue for moving the wedding party photos indoors and had the foresight to phone the wedding and reception venues to ensure they had snow removal ready for pathways and parking lots. On the day of the wedding, FOUR inches of snow fell with strong winds and Lynne provided the wedding party with umbrellas, tissues and snacks, wow! As a result of Lynne’s engagement and oversight, each of our family’s weddings was simply perfection, even with four inches of snow! Many thanks and cheers to Lynne Kennedy!
The Gilded Aisle weddings is beyond amazing. I could not imagine doing any event without Lynne Kennedy…The Giilded Aisle Weddings, far surpassed any expectations. She is the consummate professional and one of the nicest women you will ever meet. There was not a detail overlooked. Not an emergency she wasn’t more than prepared to handle. All of her work before the wedding gave my daughter the wedding of her dreams.
Lynne helped to plan my wedding in 2017. Even more than a year later, she is still filling our lives with personal touches: from a sweet happy anniversary email to a New Years card. This woman knows attention to detail. Since the time of my wedding, three other of my friends have gotten married. When I reflect on all of their weddings, I’m still struck by how flawless and perfect our wedding weekend was. It would not have been possible without Lynne. She will forever have my gratitude for the most perfect weekend.
The owner Lynne did a fabulous job for us. We were pretty late in the schedule in finding a day-of-coordinator, and having previously received quotes from other vendors, her cost was very reasonable. She is very organized and detailed, using an online portal to track all vendors, contracts, payment schedules and guests. She was very responsive and responded at all hours of the day. She was very accommodating throughout the process, and she along with her assistant did everything possible to make the wedding best as possible.
She was prepared and calm throughout the entire wedding process start to finish. We had some very difficult health issues going on with a family member and she pulled us all up through the tears and everything went perfectly. Lynne is incredibly detailed & organized and such a beautiful person and spirit to have on your special day . Most important she listen to exactly what you want and does it the way you want . Her expertise and years of experience shine through. We were over the top thrilled with her services.
Lynne was an absolute pleasure to work with and we truly could not have done it without her! She ensured our wedding day went seamlessly and it did! There were a few things that came up the day of (because life happens) that pushed the timeline back and she calmly coordinated with the vendors to make sure a new plan was developed on the spot. There were also issues with the bridesmaids dresses and she helped undo the seams and resew them so that they looked good again. Lynne is amazing!! I would recommend her to anyone. She totally took the away the stress that comes with planning and she does her job with such grace, ease, and joy. Could not be more pleased and cannot say enough good things about her!
My two daughters got married within 9 months of one another. I did not know of Lynne to use her for the first wedding. I was very happy with the first wedding; but decided to involve Lynne in the second one, which was at our home (creating lots of different challenges!). Lynne has many great qualities and gifts including: outstanding organizational skills, very detail oriented, on top of and out ahead of all that needed to be done, and going above and beyond in making connections with vendors for consideration. On the day of the wedding, especially being in our home, I was able to enjoy the day leading up to the wedding because I knew Lynne had everything covered. I could NEVER have had a wedding at our home without Lynne's help. She went above and beyond pitching in every step of the way to make it easier on me, my husband, and the bride and groom.
Lynne also has the gift of an amazing calming presence. Things always come up right until the wedding begins and even through out that can't be planned for. Lynne addressed and handled each and every one, often without me knowing that there was something that needed to be taken care of.
Lynne is kind, has a big heart, and is genuinely invested in making an event special, as if it was her own. She is a very special person with amazing gifts suited for her work. I am so very thankful that she was the wedding planner for our daughter's wedding.
I cannot say enough good things about Lynne (the owner)- working with her was possibly the best decision we made for our wedding. She was incredibly kind, on top of everything, and thought of things we never would have when it comes to planning a wedding. She went above and beyond for us, helped us find someone to draw a welcome sign on a chalkboard for our ceremony, and coordinated anything we needed her to. She was so flexible and helpful, had contacts for every detail of the wedding (other vendors and such) and has impeccable taste. She was so incredibly kind and paid such good detail to every aspect we brought up, I have no clue how she does it all!

Stop looking for a planner and just use Lynne Kennedy. I have known Lynne Kennedy for many years on a personal and professional level. She has always been remarkable and talented in all that she does, I would say. Three weeks before my very unplanned wedding, I hired her to take charge and help me (save me). Her ideas were welcomed and super creative. Needless to say we were in a time crunch. She came up with ideas and executed with ease. I did not have to worry because I knew Lynne would handle everything. My magical day arrived and I never knew of any hiccups because Lynne had everything planned. I would highly recommend Lynne for a wedding planner. She is creative, organized, and detail-oriented. She can take any idea and execute it, economically too. She truly helped organize my big day into a dream come true.
