Inspiration for a destination wedding at Offshore at Navy Pier Chicago
Destinations have always been a popular choice when it comes to weddings but sometimes it doesn’t always work out. Whether it be because of budget, guests not being able to attend, or even travel restrictions, this does not have to mean you can’t bring a destination energy to your hometown venue. The Gilded Aisle team decided to bring a destination wedding to life with a styled shoot at Offshore at Navy Pier Chicago.
Weddings at Offshore at Navy Pier
The destination bride styled shoot was set in a very fitting location in Chicago, Offshore at Navy Pier. With this venue being the largest rooftop space in Chicago that overlooks Lake Michigan and the city skyline with a nautical theme throughout, we knew our concept would fit perfectly in this space. Additionally, Offshore can semi-private events 20-200 guests and full buy-outs for 90-750.

Andre LaCour, owner of LaCour Images and our man behind the lens, captured each detail throughout the day and as a result, created beautiful photographs. Lara, with Old North Film Company, jump in and delivered beautiful footage throughout the day including some breathtaking city shots.
Bridal beauty
For our bride’s makeup the wonderful Elise Brill of Leesi B. Cosmetics provided a soft natural glow for the first look. Afterwards she added a pop of color for a sense of intrigue with the perfect lash. Nicci Loiacono of Luxe Brides by Nicci, completed our brides look with two stunning hair styles. First she provided updo was sexy effortless curls and transitioned into a sleek bun.
Wedding attire, jewelry, and accessories
Mira Couture, a bridal shop with some of the most gorgeous gowns in Chicago, provided our fabulous dresses and veils for the day. The first dress was a strapless fitted gown with unique, 3D floral applique by Shlomit Azrad, perfect for a beach ceremony. Later, our bride’s next dress was by designer Neta Dover which had stunning hints of circular glitter throughout providing that extra bit of sparkle. These dresses contrasted the unique aspects and decor of Offshore at Navy Pier perfectly.
James Ciccotti owner of James Ciccotti Bridal Shoes & Accessories, provided several pairs of stunning shoes for our bride to wear. And what bride doesn’t love shoes! Firstly, our bride wore a pair of gorgeous simple sandals with a heel, perfect for any destination wedding. Afterwards, she wore a more lavish heel with hints of sparkle to match her dress.
Dana Rebecca Designs, a local Chicago company, graciously provided all the beautiful jewelry. Our bride was first wearing a stunning Solitaire Engagement Ring with a 2-ct. oval and Yellow Gold Skinny Band with the Poppy Rae diamond pebble cuff and Taylor Beth cutout studs. Next, she switched to a gorgeous Solitaire Engagement Ring with a 2 ct. Emerald and Rose Gold Skinny Band.
Wedding florals and decor
The luscious bouquet, created by Anthony Gowder, couldn’t have matched our bride and theme any better. The hand-tied bouquet included white tropical florals with foliage accents.
Another fun element to the shoot was the unique acrylic escort board which was first hand painted in tones of blue and white. Meanwhile, Amber owner of Amber Rosenberg Designs, personalized beautifully decorated shells that were placed in order of table seating. The bride and groom received their own special shells placed at the top center of the board.
Wedding stationary
Nicole, the very talented owner of Emery Ann Design, created a digital print invitation. Inside the envelopes you’ll find a tropical floral illustration thereafter the invitation was addressed in a beautiful blue script complimented by gray-blue toned envelopes. Lastly, the suite was complete with a pineapple wax seal on the reception card.
Wedding cake
The breathtaking cake designed was crafted by Mona, owner of Mona’s Sweet Spot. Mona created a marble affect with mixed tones of blue and added hints of gold flecks. The detailing on the right side of the cake is meant to give the sense of waves also capturing the color of the water surrounding Offshore at Navy Pier. BBJ linen covers the table which has a slight sandy tone and is draped by a light fish net. Finally, the table is covered in shells, sea glass, and coral contributing to the destination theme.
Signature drink
Our signature cocktail was created by Ross, the owner of UnMuddled Bartending. Ross built a bright blue tropical drink with a rum base and hints of pineapple and garnished with a cherry and pineapple leaf.
